A book that has always inspired me is “The little prince” by Antoine de St. Exupery
In the desert, where the narrator’s plane crashed, he meets the little prince, who asks him to draw a sheep to bring back home to his little planet. He leaves the narrator in disbelief of seeing a child in the middle of the hot desert and tries to put some sense in the little prince’s head, who seem’s like being lost in the middle of nowhere is the least of his worries.
It gives a perceptive how adults and children view things differently, how to a child “adult things” are not important and the little prince takes us on a journey to figure out what is. nuff said!

I read this in gr. 4 when I lived in France, so after all these years, coming to Canada and all, I finally saw the book in a french library and bought it, read it and cried my butt off!
It is a really beautiful book, and it means a lot to me.
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
