What is Invisible to the Eye

A book that has always inspired me is “The little prince” by Antoine de St. Exupery

In the desert, where  the narrator’s plane crashed, he meets the little prince, who asks him to draw a sheep to bring back home to his little planet. He leaves the narrator in disbelief of seeing a child in the middle  of the hot desert and tries to put some sense in the little prince’s head, who seem’s like being lost in the middle of nowhere is the least of his worries.

It gives a perceptive how adults and children view things differently, how to a child “adult things” are not important and the little prince takes us on a journey to figure out what is. nuff said!

Read the Book: http://www.angelfire.com/hi/littleprince/frames.html

I read this in gr. 4 when I lived in France, so after all these years, coming to Canada and all, I finally saw the book in a french library and bought it, read it and cried my butt off!

It is a really beautiful book, and it means a lot to me.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

  1. I need to read the little prince. It sounds like a very good book. I was drawn to this post because of the title. When my cousin in Montreal was younger, he spoke only French and would sit there and tell me (in french) what to draw next. “Dessine-moi un bateau.” was his favorite. It’s how I learned many a french word. This brought back those memories to me so thanks!

    1. no problem, im glad! And it is a really good book, its not realistic but the lessons in there are, and that’s why i love this book so much! When I will be older I always want to remember the lesson in this book to never forget how to think like a child…thx again for ur comment
